I was walking past the cool little store that sold interesting items so I randomly went in and bought $100 worth of nick nacks. When I got home I realised there had been a misunderstanding with one of the items I bought. I bought a Cutlery set thinking I was getting a 4 place setting when in actual fact I got a single place setting made up of 4 pieces. I never opened the item and returned to the store to get a refund as I can't afford to spend that much on cutlery. I was told they don't offer a refund! Now I myself work in retail, and without question our customers automatically get a refund if there has been a mistake - sounds fair right? We believe the customer will return and spend more and therefore it's in our interest to keep our them happy. Not this place! I now understand that they weren't required to offer a refund, but I can tell you now I will never shop there again.

My friend and I were walking past DEA one afternoon and decided to pop in. The experience we had inside of the store was wonderful. The store owner was very kind, polite, talkative, and knowledgable. You didn't feel inclined to make a purchase at all. It was a very comfortable atmosphere. Despite this, you didn't need any convincing to pick something up! The items for sale were all beautiful, I wanted one of everything. It is all very unique and intriguing product and I'll be returning to the store on multiple occasions in the future for personal purchases and also to purchase presents for my friends and family as there is something for everyone.

This is my go to store for all my gifting needs as well as my own (I've collected quite a few pieces myself )as soon as you step foot inside your eyes are instantly feasting on such alluring visual treats...the shelves are always filled with amazing hand picked stock that Karin & her amazing team have such in depth knowledge of each beautiful curated piece. The complimentary refreshments are a nice touch on a hot day as well. If you ever want to lose yourself in a wonderland of homewares & design this is the place to do it...I already know what's on my list for my next purchase! Haha

Without a doubt, one of the most authentically unique retail spaces in Sydney. The D E A Store sells homewares, gifts and objets d'art for the discerning buyer.

One of the most interesting shops Ive ever been to. The stock is immaculately curated including home wear and art. A lot of the items are imported from Japan so its full of items you cant get anywhere else! I chatted with the owner of the store and she showed me all the items she gets from Japanese artists. I would definitely recommend this store if you're looking for quirky goods for your home and even gifts. I bought kiwi flavoured toothpaste from japan which is just one example of the interesting items she sells. The woman who owns the shop is such a gem and I cant wait to go back. Great for dish wear, gifts, home wear, jewelry etc

The assembled stock has clearly been curated with love, a fact which means it is always a pleasure to open the door and walk in. In these days of online shopping and with an overwhelming number of hipster-shop clones multiplying throughout the inner city, it's comforting to know that places such as The D E A Store remain in the neighbourhood. Especially now that I have returned to live not too far away.

Whilst living overseas over the past several years, I have made a point of returning to this shop each time I was in Sydney because on every occasion I was guaranteed a treasure to take back on the plane and enjoy long after I'd returned home. And if it was gift I'd bought, it never failed to please its recipient.
